Grok Bot comes from SpaceXSI, the AI company founded by Elon Musk that has been part of SpaceX since February 2026. Each Bot gets its own cloud computer with a browser, files, and a terminal, so it can finish real work in your apps and keep going after you close your laptop. Here is how to put one to work for you today.
Start by getting the app. On a Windows PC or a Mac, go to x.ai/bot and pick the download for your computer. Windows users choose the x64 or Arm64 installer, run it, and open Grok Bot from the Start menu, while Mac users open the disk image and drag Grok Bot into Applications. There is a Linux version as well. On an iPhone or iPad, install Grok Bot from the App Store (iOS or iPadOS 18 or later), and on an Android phone or tablet, get it from Google Play (Android 9 or later).
Then sign in. Choose Sign in on the welcome screen, finish the login in the browser window that opens, and return to the app. Grok Bot is included with paid individual Cursor plans and the Cursor Teams plan, and you can also link an individual SuperGrok subscription. Once you're signed in, the same Bots and conversations sync across your desktop, phone, and tablet, so you can start a task at your desk and approve the next step from your phone.
Now create your first Bot and describe its job clearly. Give it a name, a title, and a description written the way you would explain the task to a new hire, step by step. The more specific you are about what finished work looks like, the better the results, and setup usually takes only 10 to 15 minutes.
Next, start with one real recurring task instead of a big project. Pick something with a clear finish line that touches a few tools, such as gathering the week's open requests and drafting replies. Watch how the Bot handles it, correct what it gets wrong, and let those corrections shape the next run.
After that, connect the tools it needs. Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive connect directly, and Microsoft Outlook email and calendar work as well. You can link more than one account per service, so a Bot can check both a personal and a work inbox. Grant only the access the job actually requires.
Once a task runs smoothly, turn that repeat ask into a routine. Tell the Bot to run it on a schedule, such as every weekday morning, and it will pick the work up on its own. If you walk it through a multi-step process once, it can save that path as a skill and reuse it.
As the workload grows, add specialist Bots that hand work to each other. One Bot can research while another drafts, and they can message each other or share a group chat, so you stop being the person relaying information between tools.
To keep a growing team organized, pick a Primary Bot. This is the lead Bot, marked with a star, that checks in with you on its own, suggests tasks it can take over, and hands work to your specialist Bots before gathering the results. Many people make it a Chief of Staff, and SpaceXSI offers a ready-made Chief of Staff Bot that you can add with one click. A good first job for it is a daily digest of what changed in your inbox and calendar, what needs your decision, and which Bot should handle the rest.
Your Primary Bot can also claim its own email address. That way, people can send it requests directly, and it can send mail as itself instead of from your personal inbox, which keeps its work easy to spot and easy to review.
Set your rules in plain language. Spell out what a Bot may never do without asking, and a separate review agent checks proposed actions and can allow, block, or escalate them to you for approval. Remember that your Bots share one computer, so a site one Bot logs into is reachable by the others.
Finally, stay in the loop. When a website needs a CAPTCHA or a two-factor code, the Bot hands that step back to you rather than working around it. Have Bots leave emails as drafts, and review every draft before anything is sent. For a full walkthrough, watch the Grok Bot 101 session on X or start from this official post.
